Why do some of my finger nails have deep ridges/waves and others don't? I don't get manicures or anything.

I heard it's a vitamin deficiency, and I always took prenatal vitamins. They didnt' help.

I used to have ridges in my nails (which are otherwise very nice) until I used a Sally Hansen product called 4 in 1 nail care. It's about $10. I use it as a top coat when I paint my nails and the ridges, which I've had for years, were gone within a few weeks. Why do some of my finger nails have deep ridges/waves and others don't? i have ridges in my nails too, they're not a vitamin deficiency, they're a natural thing, but yes that sally hansen thing does work! so go ahead!

i get those! they jusy occur naturally for some reason!
Could be your diet... Although, mine are the same way and I think it's bc I hold my pen funny when I write and it just got warped bc of the pressure on that certain spot...
you're deficient in a certain nutrient.....

try taking prenatal pills, they have all the vitamins and supplements you would need for hair and nails..... it says prenatal because they are recommended for pregnant women, but anyone can take them since they're just standard vitamins....

  • Why are Chinese people so good at giving manicures?

This may sound stupid, but I think that's just kinda part of their culture. I've never seen a non-Asian salon or something. But, I agree, I love getting my nails done! The details are always so cute! Why are Chinese people so good at giving manicures?
Duh. Because their hands are so small. Why are Chinese people so good at giving manicures?
    why are you stereotyping....

my question..why do ppl ask questions like that?...durrrrrrr
    probably b/c they're actually korean.
*waiting for this question to get reported*
thats a stupid question not only chinese people give manicures.

For my 14th I want to have a Spa/Girl's night in theme but can't think of anything besides manicures etc to do

I have thought of manicure etc stations and watching a movie and other ideasFor my 14th I want to have a Spa/Girl's night in theme but can't think of anything besides manicures etc to do
It's my 13th birthday sleepover tomorrow. It's sort of got a Celebrity theme, but it could still fit in with your theme too. I've got lots of things planned, but have left time to just like talk and stuff (that's important, cos it's not much fun for the guests if they have to do this and that and there is too much stuff planned).

We're going to have face mask thingos ($2 for 1 sample thingo, you can get it from the chemist or Priceline etc.). Also a fashion shoot afterwards, and we'll be using some plain white material as like a backdrop, so it looks kinda professional. I have a new make up kit AND camera AND GHD Hair Straightener, so will use these too - should be a lot of fun! We're going to watch some movies too, and of course play truth or dare (usually turns out to be one of the highlights of any sleepover!) and have the birthday cake etc. For tea we're going to have finger-food-type-stuff, like potato gems and dim sims and that sort of thing.

For ';take-home-bags'; they're actually not bags - they're see-through cosmetics cases with a nail polish, eyeshadow, pocket mirror, chocolate, bath salts, and more in! I could afford to spend a bit more because I'm only having a few guests.

Hope this helps : ) And if you like, I can let you know how it goes and what my friends enjoyed most etc.For my 14th I want to have a Spa/Girl's night in theme but can't think of anything besides manicures etc to do

Can a self employed woman write off two suits a year and also manicures and pedicures?

wow this question has all kinds of layers...what does a businesswoman require to conduct business?

In general, uniforms are eligible for write offs if the employer doesn't provide them for the employee. In your case, you are your boss. So ... manicures and pedicures are a luxury in my humble opinion. At least I don't think they are a requirement to look presentable. you can file nails at home and paint clear gloss over them and still look neat and clean. Can a self employed woman write off two suits a year and also manicures and pedicures?
    Where?

If you're talking about the IRS, you can claim it but if you get audited you'll have to justify it being a geniune business expense.

The IRS has a small business publication that includes quite a bit about deductions -

';To be deductible, a business expense must be both ordinary and necessary. An ordinary expense is one that is common and accepted in your field of business. A necessary expense is one that is helpful and appropriate for your business. An expense does not have to be indispensable to be considered necessary. what?

I have a problem with french manicures?

I have a french manicure kit that I use with the stickers so you can get the perfect white tip. It is the product by Sall Hansen. I love using it, but I have one problem. Whenever I take the stickers off, the white part sometimes gets caught in the tape and it gets on the top of the nail. What am I doing wrong?I have a problem with french manicures?
get opi nail envy (the original green one)

save up for a jar of ';one minute manicure';... its a lil expensive but it lasts a really long time. it makes your hands really really soft and naturally exfoliates the cuticle

and tweezerman porcelain nail file (optional) i just prefer cuz it seals the nail so it doesn't absorb water and get weak.

after i bought those 3 things i no longer go to the salon to get 35 dollar refills for acrylic nails every 2 weeks. every week i file my nails more square, completely remove the nail envy, use the omm, wipe the oil off my nails with a q-tip %26amp; acetone, and then apply 2 coats of nail envy. then 1 coat every other day. my nails are seriously as strong and glossy as acrylics w/ a natural french look. everyone thinks they are fake.

Whats your opinion of french manicures?

i have it on my real nails. does anyone just not like them, or are they generally liked? do you have one?Whats your opinion of french manicures?
OK, apparently a lot of people like them, but I'm not really a fan. I think they look OK on real nails but I hate them on artificial nails - they just look far too Footballers' Wives for my taste. I associate them with people like Posh Spice.

I think the key thing is not making the white too bright - if it's a natural white and your nails are natural, it looks good, but pure brilliant white on artificial talons just makes you look like you've been sticking your fingers in Tippex!Whats your opinion of french manicures?
I love them! I like getting them done on my feet. When I where open-toed shoes I get lots of compliments
I think French mani's are hip and neat!
In my opinion it's really classy and it goes well with everything from jeans to cocktail dresses;)
i just like clear nail polish
It seems to be the trend right now... so long to those days when you actually painted your nails to match your dress or makeup.... I guess it matches everything so less work, less often... I like them but I also like the full colors on nails too..
very popular. most people love them
if your nails are normal lenght, it look very cute and elegant and it suits every type of dressing:http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbvi鈥?/a>

i LOVE IT its the only way i wear my nails!
Love it!! I dont have one because my mom says they cut your nails really short and it hurts.
I really like it. It is kind of convenient because it matches with all colours and all kinds of summer shoes. And u don't have to worry if u wear red dress to have red nails. A French manicure is suitable for morning, night, parties, weddings etc.
I luv French Manicures, just did one yesterday.I think French Manicures are great as they match anything,it gives the nails a feminine, classy look compared to designs or funny-colored ones.Plus, French Manicures gives the fingernails a ';longer'; look.Even when i dont have a FM, i luv to get em buffed, so they look shiny %26amp; healthy. :o)
Most people like french manicures.I like them cause they make my nails look longer and they are pretty. I think that that french manicures are genrally liked by girls inless your a tom boy. I on the other hand love french manicures.
    oh my god it is the best thing they could of ever invented i get mines none every 2 weeks or soo i think we should go 2gether and get ours done ill pay!!!!lol;}

Do you know any natural manicures?

i want a natural manicure using no nail polish, only clear!Do you know any natural manicures?
go to bed and bath and ask for the nail buffer. It works great.. it will polish your nails and give it a beautifull shine. It cost about $5 dollars. You also see similar products being sold by those cart merchants in the mall. They work better.Do you know any natural manicures?
Just buff, file, and shape your nails until they are smooth. Treat your cuticles and nailbeds with vitamin E oil, and then put a coat of clear polish on your nails. Voila.
    hannahs hot!
