Are manicures and pedicures are a waste of money?

I work at a club during the night and an office during the day. Is paying $70.00 for both manicure and pedicure every two weeks too much? Do guys even notice the difference?Are manicures and pedicures are a waste of money?

I used to pay bi-weekly for the works... but then again I was half naked so...





They do notice... Highlights, Tanning, cute toes, nice nails and the good old brazillian butt wax and ';trim-kitty hedgerow';... are all a part of a whole package.





They notice, but I don't think in the same way that we do. We do it half for women and half for men, just for different reasons.





I think good hygene and keeping yourself attractive is always a good thing.





But with gas prices the way they are lately... Im sure the toes could go for three weeks instead of two if that is the problem? Closed toe shoes are just as nice sometimes.Are manicures and pedicures are a waste of money?
If you enjoy getting pampered and enjoy having pretty nails, then there definitely is not a price tag attached to it. I'm sure that guys like a girl with good nails rather than gross ones!
Is is a waste of money...No! It sounds like you work really hard both night and day so it's really important to treat yourself to some pampering. As far as who notices, I think if your feet and hands were nasty, guys would definately notice. I've heard guys talk about girls with nasty feet or ugly hands and they said it was a definate turn off. You also work so much, it's faster to have the salon do your nails then do them yourself. The price you mentioned is a bit high so you may want to call around to see if you can find a good salon that is a bit less expensive. I think it's really important for women to take care of themselves in every way possible...hair, nails, clothes, shoes, accessories, working out, diet, perfume, make-up, etc. Go for it!!!

I don't think it's a good use for money (even if the guys do notice) but you might not think what I do with mine is good.

no. thats less than what i pay. i pay 120 every 2 wks to get ine done and i do the same thing you do and no one can tell the difference!
Personally I do my own and save the money... I mean $70 every other week is $1820 a year! That is a good amount of money towards a vacation or something else. That is just me though... Some people can afford to spend that kinda money and just like being pampered, of I could afford that I would too- but baby diapers come first :)
I think giving yourself a manicure/pedicure at home is no different. But if you do it for yourself and enjoy pampering yourself every once in a while and can afford it, then why not? Don't do it for anyone else, though, because chances are unless they are very shallow, they won't care ;)

I waste more on my pot and cappuccino habit, but to tell you the truth, very few guys notice.
It's definitely worth it if it's done professionally and looks nice. guys may not admit it, but they most likely notice those things if they really care
As a guy I could care less. Then again I like natural beauty. I even prefer my wife witout makeup. I think it makes you look like a clown.

Waste? How so? I know people who waste more getting drunk each week end, or stoned, or gambling at Indian casinos. As far ad if the service you get cost too much. I would say depending on where you got it. If it was some ';fast food'; nail place at the strip mall, or in Walmart(where the chatter is likely to be some foreign dialect you don't understand)then you are. If you are at a more upscale place then you are probably underpaying. And have you tried twisting your feet around to do your own toe nails? Not easy. And if you can afford to have someone else do it. why not.





Those who say you pay too much are probably those who go to the :fast food'; budget nail places where they put you on an assembly line and get your butt out the seat, and your money in there hand as fast as they can. A place I would never work at.





Do guys notice? Those who are not clods or near dead. The same way guys notice a woman in 4 in heels. Second to the length of the hair, and the heels, nails comes in about 3rd. When I see a woman with nails it say to me a woman who care about looking good. Some can only afford the budget places and believe that ALL service is the same. You don't get the same steak at Sizzler as you do at His Lordships. Strip mall nails next to a true salon or spa is like your grand dads old Ford next to a Lamborghini.
waste of money.You can paint your nails and do that sorta stuff at home.Guys probably don't notice the difference.I think pedi's and mani's or whatever are kinda Gross.I mean I was watching this show and sometimes they don't disinfect the tools they use to clean your feet and hands.Wouldn't you rather stay at home and use your own clean tools that you know are clean?

I don't bother with the manicure because the polish never lasts, but I like getting a pedicure (or even doing my own.) Pay whatever your think it's worth and don't worry about what guys think of it. Do it for yourself if you think it's worth it.
My goodness! That's a lot. You can get it for about $25 each time you go, or cheaper in some places. You might want to look for less expensive places to go.
Try doing a pedicure only once a month during the winter months, unless you just like the pampering. In the summer when we wear sandals it just seems right to get pedicures.

Nails say a lot of our personal hygiene. No matter if guys notice it, people in general do and you'll score more points at your night and day job if you keep your nails in a nice-grooming shape.
