Can a self employed woman write off two suits a year and also manicures and pedicures?

wow this question has all kinds of layers...what does a businesswoman require to conduct business?

In general, uniforms are eligible for write offs if the employer doesn't provide them for the employee. In your case, you are your boss. So ... manicures and pedicures are a luxury in my humble opinion. At least I don't think they are a requirement to look presentable. you can file nails at home and paint clear gloss over them and still look neat and clean. Can a self employed woman write off two suits a year and also manicures and pedicures?
Where?

If you're talking about the IRS, you can claim it but if you get audited you'll have to justify it being a geniune business expense.

The IRS has a small business publication that includes quite a bit about deductions -

';To be deductible, a business expense must be both ordinary and necessary. An ordinary expense is one that is common and accepted in your field of business. A necessary expense is one that is helpful and appropriate for your business. An expense does not have to be indispensable to be considered necessary.
